THE BIT NO ONE TELLS YOU

Been told to just rest it and stop your sport?

It's not your only option, and it's usually the worst one.

Rest alone lets the pain settle, but it also lets your strength, control and fitness fall

away, so the injury comes straight back when you return. The fix isn't to stop. It's to

treat what's injured, then rebuild the strength and movement that let it happen,

so you come back able, not fragile. That's what sports therapy is for.

"Had an excellent sports massage that helped me recover from a hamstring injury and get back to playing."

WHAT WE HELP WITH

/ From fresh injuries to old, recurring ones

Whether you've just picked something up or you've been managing the same

niggle for seasons, sports therapy is built to get you back and keep you there.

Sprains, strains, tears and knocks, assessed and treated fast so you heal the right way.

⚡ Acute injuries

Runner's knee, shin splints, tendon pain and the niggles that keep coming back mid-season.

🔁 Overuse & recurring

Structured rehab that gets you back to training and competing, not just out of pain.

🎯 Return to sport

Screening and conditioning that find weak links before they turn into your next injury.

🛡️ Prevention & performance

WHY TAP IS DIFFERENT

Rest gets you out of pain. Rebuilding gets you back to sport.

Anyone can tell you to stop. Sports therapy is about the harder, better job: treating the injury, then rebuilding the strength, control and loading your sport actually demands, so you return more robust than the version of you that got injured.

Being rebuilt all the way back to full performance, not just rested until the pain fades, is the key to returning to your sport stronger and not breaking down again. That's sports therapy at TAP.

WHAT YOUR SPORTS THERAPY INCLUDES

/ The whole journey, not just the sore bit

We find exactly what's injured and why it happened, so it's treated right and doesn't simply recur.

01 A proper diagnosis

Soft tissue work, mobilisation, taping, dry needling and more to settle the injury and speed healing.

02 Hands-on treatment

Progressive strength and loading built around your sport, so you come back able, not just pain-free.

03 Return-to-sport rehab

We fix the weak links and movement faults behind the injury, so you finish stronger than you started.

04 Prevention & performance

/ The TAP Method, for deep tension

Why our athletes come back and stay back, instead of cycling through the same injury every season.

OUR 3-STEP METHOD

01

Assess

A full assessment of the injury and how you move, to find not just what's hurt but why it happened.

02

Treat

Hands-on treatment from minute one to settle the injury and get you moving comfortably again.

03

Rebuild

Sport-specific strength and loading that returns you to training and competition more robust than before.

Sports therapy in central Leamington

You'll find us at REGEN Rooms, Suite B, 1 Augusta Place, Leamington Spa, CV32 5EL, a five-minute walk from the Parade and simple to fit around your training week. We're open Fridays from 8am to 9pm plus occasional Wednesdays.

Back on the pitch: sports therapy for Leamington's clubs and teams

Weekend sport in Leamington Spa means hockey on the astros, rugby, football and netball, plus a steady stream of school and junior players. It also means Monday-morning ankles, tweaked hamstrings and shoulders that went into a tackle and didn't come out quite right.

If you play in Leamington, Milverton, Lillington or anywhere across Warwickshire, you know how quickly a niggle becomes a missed fortnight. Sports therapy at TAP is about shortening that gap. We get you properly assessed, start hands-on treatment straight away and build a return-to-play plan that tests the injury before your next match does. It's not "rest it and see".

Our Leamington clinic at REGEN Rooms on Augusta Place is open Fridays from 8am to 9pm, so you can get a niggle sorted before the weekend's match. Picked something up on a Saturday? Our Warwick clinic is about ten minutes away and open seven days a week. No GP referral is needed. If it turns out you need imaging or a specialist, we'll tell you straight and point you in the right direction.

We also see players referred to us by Offchurch Netball Club, parents of junior players, and adults coming back to sport after years away who want to do it without breaking down in week three.

PROOF IT WORKS

/ What our clients say

Straight from our Google reviews, word for word.

 "

Excellent as always, back on the road to being fixed. Thank you.

The clock on a return to sport starts the day you get it seen. Every week an injury is left guessing is a week of lost strength and fitness to rebuild later. Get assessed early and the road back is shorter. Same-week appointments mean you don't lose the season waiting.

GOOD TO KNOW

/ Sports therapy in Leamington Spa, FAQs

What's the difference between sports therapy and physiotherapy

Big overlap, slightly different focus. Sports therapy centres on sport and exercise injuries and getting

you back to full performance; physiotherapy covers a wider range of musculoskeletal and clinical issues.

At TAP it's one team, so we'll always point you to the right person for your problem.

Do I need to be a serious athlete?

No. From weekend park-runners to competitive players, if you move and you've picked up an

injury or want to prevent one, sports therapy is for you.

How soon can I get back to my sport?

It depends on the injury, but we'll give you an honest timeline at your assessment and

a clear plan to get there safely, rather than a guess or a blanket "rest for six weeks."

Do I need a GP referral?

No. Book directly online as a private client and you can usually be seen the same week,

across our Leamington Spa, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon clinics.

Do you take private health insurance

Yes, we work with most major private insurers. Check our insurance page or ask us how it works with your provider.

Can you help me prevent injuries, not just treat them?

Absolutely. A lot of what we do is spotting the weak links and movement faults that cause injuries,

and building them out before they stop you.
