Shoulder pain,
fixed properly
You notice it reaching the top shelf, then lying on it at night and it never just "wears off". Most treatment chases the sore spot; ours finds what's actually driving it, then fixes it hands-on. Get better, and stay better.

SOUND FAMILIAR?
/ The shoulder that keeps
interrupting your life
✓You can't sleep on that side any more. You wake every time you roll onto it
✓Reaching behind you (seatbelt, bra strap, back pocket) gives a sharp sting
✓Anything overhead (washing your hair, the top shelf, a press) sets it off
✓A dull ache that's started creeping down your upper arm
✓It feels weak lifting the kettle or carrying bags in from the car
✓You've rested it for weeks. It's no better, maybe stiffer
Rest isn't a treatment plan.
It's a pause button.
Shoulders are the joint that punishes rest most. Stop using one and it stiffens; rest it completely for long enough and you're flirting with a frozen shoulder that takes months to thaw. The pain is rarely just "wear and tear". It's usually a problem of control, load or capacity: a shoulder blade that isn't moving well, a rotator cuff that's weaker than the job you're asking of it, a neck quietly referring pain downwards. Rest calms it. It doesn't change any of that. Which is why it comes back, and why we start by finding the actual cause.
WHAT'S ACTUALLY GOING ON
/ Shoulder problems we treat every week
Different problems need different plans. Naming yours precisely is step one of fixing it.
The ache and weakness that flares with lifting and overhead reach. The most common shoulder problem we see, and tendons respond to the right loading, not to rest.
Rotator cuff pain
A shoulder that's stiff in every direction and worse at night. Slow, but very treatable: the right plan at each phase makes months of difference.
Frozen shoulder
A sharp catch in a painful arc as your arm goes up. Usually a movement and control problem, not something "trapped" that needs cutting out.
Shoulder impingement
Some shoulder pain isn't from the shoulder at all. It's referred from the neck. Our assessment tells the two apart, so you treat the right thing.
Neck-referred shoulder pain
A shoulder that's popped out, or feels like it might. Structured rehab rebuilds the strength and confidence to trust it again, on the pitch and off it.
Post-dislocation & instability
Pressing, throwing, swimming, CrossFit niggles. We find the link in the chain that's overloaded and keep you training while we fix it.
Overhead athlete shoulders
Shoulders that stay sore start stealing movement.
First it's the overhead reach, then dressing, then a full night's sleep, and the stiffer it gets, the longer it takes to win that movement back. Every week you wait is a week of compensation we'll have to undo. Same-week appointments mean you don't have to wait.
/ The TAP Method, applied to your shoulder
The reason our results last when quick fixes don't. One plan, one team, three steps.
OUR 3 STEP SYSTEM. WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR FIRST SESSION
01
Assess
A proper conversation, then a full assessment: neck, shoulder blade, rotator cuff strength, posture, sleep position, training history. We find the true cause of your shoulder pain, not just where it hurts. Most people tell us nobody has ever looked this closely before.
02
Treat
Hands-on treatment from minute one: massage, mobilisation, dry needling, cupping and more, tailored to what your shoulder actually needs. You'll feel a difference before you leave the room.
03
Rebuild
A clear plan and simple, progressive exercises to rebuild rotator cuff and shoulder blade strength, so your shoulder ends up stronger than before the pain started. This is the step every quick fix skips, and the reason ours doesn't come back.
No GP referral, no scan required, no fixed packages, no pressure. In your first session we'll find what's actually driving your shoulder pain and tell you honestly how we can help, or point you to who can if we're not the right fit.
/ How long does shoulder recovery take?
Anyone promising to fix your shoulder in one session is guessing. Here's what we actually see in clinic when people follow their plan.

Luigi P · Fresha review · Shoulder injury
Bethan has a lovely personality and is a top professional. I came to see her with a serious shoulder injury. With her expert guidance and physiotherapy I am now almost back to normal. I am really impressed and thankful
"
Michelle C · Fresha review · Shoulder & upper back
Lydia identified my shoulder issue promptly and immediately started working with various techniques. This provided instant relief through my shoulder, upper back and tight pec.
"
Shilpa P · Fresha review · Neck & shoulder
I had a great initial consultation and therapy with Steve. He sought information on my problem areas around my neck and shoulder, before working out the muscles really well. He communicated throughout and was really helpful with providing after-massage exercises. My shoulder and neck felt a whole lot better hours after my appointment, too!

GOOD TO KNOW
/ Shoulder questions, answered
Do I need a GP referral or a scan first?
No. You can book directly with us as a private patient. No GP referral, no scan needed.
A thorough physical assessment diagnoses most knee problems accurately, and if we think
imaging would genuinely change your treatment, we'll tell you and point you the right way.
Should I stop training?
Almost never completely. We modify, not stop: swap the movements that flare it, keep
everything that doesn't, and reintroduce pressing and overhead work as your shoulder earns it
back. Total rest deconditions the very muscles your shoulder needs, and a stopped shoulder stiffens fast.
Is it frozen shoulder? How do you tell?
The giveaway is stiffness in every direction, especially rotating your arm outwards,
that's there whether you move it or someone else does, usually with miserable nights.
Impingement and cuff pain hurt in certain positions but keep most of their range. Your
assessment tells them apart in one session, and the plans are very different, so it matters.
How many sessions will I need?
Most shoulder problems need somewhere between 2 and 6 sessions alongside your home plan
(frozen shoulders need longer, spaced-out support), and we'll give you an honest estimate
at your first assessment. There are no fixed packages; you'll never be booked in for the sake of it.
Why does my shoulder click?
Painless clicking is common and usually harmless: tendons and bursa gliding over bone.
Clicking with pain, catching or a feeling of slipping is worth assessing, because it can point
to a cuff, labral or instability problem that responds well to the right rehab.
Either way, the click itself isn't damage happening.
Can I be seen this week?
Almost always. We hold same-week appointments across both clinics and we're open 7 days.
Warwick (4 The Holloway) and Stratford-upon-Avon (Unit 3, Avon House, 4 Mulberry Street) both treat shoulders daily.
Ready to reach overhead again?
You've got three options: keep hoping it settles on its own, keep paying for quick fixes that last a few days, or let us find the real cause and fix it properly. Book your shoulder assessment at Warwick or Stratford and take the first step out of pain today.
Your first session includes a full assessment. We'll find what's
driving your shoulder pain, or tell you honestly if we're not the right fit.
No fixed packages, no pressure.
