SOUND FAMILIAR?

/ The ankle that
keeps going over

✓Rolled it weeks ago and it's still swollen or stiff

✓Feels wobbly on uneven ground or stepping off kerbs

✓You've sprained the same ankle more than once

✓Sore pushing off, jumping or changing direction

✓Fine walking, not ready for sport

✓You rested it. It went again the first week back

Rest isn't a treatment plan.

It's a pause button.

Up to four in ten people who sprain an ankle go on to have ongoing problems or repeat sprains. Usually it's because the ligaments healed but the strength, balance and control never came back. Rest settles the swelling. It doesn't rebuild any of that. That's why ankles keep rolling and why we start by finding what's missing.

WHAT'S ACTUALLY GOING ON

/ Ankle problems we treat every week

Different problems need different plans. Naming yours precisely is step one of fixing it.

The classic rolled ankle on the outside of the joint. Quick, structured rehab gets you back sooner and stops it happening again.

Lateral ankle sprain

A higher, nastier sprain above the ankle, common in contact sport. Slower to settle and needs a specific plan.

High ankle sprain

An ankle that keeps giving way after old sprains. Balance and strength training make a big difference here.

Recurrent sprains

Ongoing stiffness and swelling months after a sprain. We find what's limiting it and get it moving again.

Stiff, swollen ankles

Pain at the front of the ankle when you squat or lunge, often after old sprains. Mobility and strength help.

Ankle impingement

Pain along the tendons on the outside of the ankle, often after a sprain. Tendons respond to the right load.

Peroneal tendon pain

Ankle sprains rarely fix themselves properly.

The swelling goes but the weakness stays, which is why so many people sprain the same ankle again. Every week you wait is a week of compensation we'll have to undo. Same-week appointments mean you don't have to wait.

The reason our results last when quick fixes don't. One plan, one team, three steps.

OUR 3 STEP SYSTEM. WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR FIRST SESSION

01

Assess

A proper conversation, then a full assessment: ankle, foot, balance, strength, hip control and your sport. We check for anything that needs an X-ray and find what is holding your recovery back. Most people tell us nobody has ever looked this closely before.

02

Treat

Hands-on treatment from minute one: mobilisation, soft tissue work, dry needling and taping, tailored to what your ankle actually needs. You'll feel a difference before you leave the room.

03

Rebuild

Balance, strength and agility work that builds up to your sport, so your ankle is stronger than before the sprain. This is the step every quick fix skips and the reason ours doesn't come back.

No GP referral, no scan required, no fixed packages, no pressure. In your first session we'll find what's actually driving your ankle pain and tell you honestly how we can help, or point you to who can if we're not the right fit.

PROOF IT WORKS

 "

TAP client · 5-star review · Football

Had my second appointment today, already feeling like I’m moving and feeling a great deal better in such a short period of time. Lydia has really helped out with both my ability to play football but also my day to day aches and pains. Which hasn’t been an issue since the first visit. Firmly recommend.

Henri C · Google Review · Root-cause Care

Extremely professional and thorough with the analysis, rehabilitation and future prevention of my shoulder injury. A great experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend the Therapy and Performance clinic!

Fantastic. Tailored treatment for my needs, with detailed video exercises for me to follow at home. Just what the doctor ordered.

GOOD TO KNOW

/ Ankle sprain questions, answered

Do I need an X-ray?

Most sprains don't. If you couldn't walk four steps straight after the injury or there is tenderness over specific bones, we may send you for an X-ray to rule out a fracture. We'll tell you straight.

Should I rest it or keep moving?

Protect it for the first few days, then get moving. Early, guided movement and loading lead to better recovery than long rest. Your plan will tell you exactly what to do and when.

How many sessions will I need?

Most ankle sprains need somewhere between 2 and 5 sessions alongside your home plan. We'll give you an honest estimate at your first assessment. There are no fixed packages and you'll never be booked in for the sake of it.

Should I tape or brace it for sport?

Often for a while after a sprain, yes. Taping or bracing can reduce the risk of another sprain while you rebuild. We will show you what works for you.

Can I be seen this week?

Almost always. We hold same-week appointments at Warwick (4 The Holloway), Stratford-upon-Avon (Unit 3, Avon House, 4 Mulberry Street) and Leamington Spa (REGEN Rooms, Augusta Place). Our Warwick clinic is open 7 days.

We also treat back pain, hip pain, sciatica, neck pain, shoulder pain and plantar fasciitis.

Ready to trust your ankle again?

You've got three options: keep hoping it settles on its own, keep paying for quick fixes that last a few days, or let us find the real cause and fix it properly. Book your ankle assessment at Warwick or Stratford and take the first step back to sport today.

Your first session includes a full assessment. We'll find what's driving your ankle pain, or tell you honestly if we're not the right fit.

No fixed packages, no pressure.
