Hip pain,
fixed properly

You feel it getting out of the car, on the stairs, lying on that side at night. It doesn't just wear off. Most treatment chases the sore spot; ours finds what's actually driving it, then fixes it hands-on. Get better and stay better.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

/ The hip that keeps
slowing you down

✓A deep ache on the outside of your hip that's worst

lying on that side at night

✓Pain in the front of the hip or groin getting out of

the car, or putting your socks on

✓Stairs, hills and standing up from a low chair

have all started to hurt

✓It stiffens up after sitting, then eases once you've walked it off

✓Your runs are getting shorter because the hip complains

at the same point every time

✓You've rested it for weeks. It's no better, maybe stiffer

Rest isn't a treatment plan.

It's a pause button.

Hips are built to carry load and they lose the ability to carry it faster than almost any joint once you stop. Most hip pain we see isn't damage. It's a gluteal tendon irritated by how you sit, stand and sleep, a joint that's stiff because it's asked to do less and less, or a hip working overtime because the back, knee or foot isn't pulling its weight. Rest calms it. It doesn't change any of that. Which is why it comes back and why we start by finding the actual cause.

WHAT'S ACTUALLY GOING ON

/ Hip problems we treat every week

Different problems need different plans. Naming yours precisely is step one of fixing it.

The ache on the outside of your hip, worst lying on it, crossing your legs or standing on one leg. The most common hip problem we see, especially in women over 40. Tendons respond to the right loading, not to rest or stretching.

Gluteal tendinopathy

Groin ache and morning stiffness that's crept in over months. Arthritis on a scan doesn't mean surgery. Strength, movement and load management improve most hips far more than people expect.

Hip osteoarthritis

A pinch deep in the front of the hip on squats, deep sitting or bringing your knee to your chest. Usually a control and mobility problem before it's a structural one.

Hip impingement (FAI)

Sharp front-of-hip pain from sprinting, kicking or a sudden change of direction. Common in football, hockey and netball. We rebuild the strength that stops it recurring.

Hip flexor & groin strain

Inflammation over the bony point of the hip, usually alongside an irritated gluteal tendon. Rarely the whole story on its own, so we treat what's aggravating it.

Hip bursitis

Some hip pain isn't from the hip. It's the low back, the SI joint or a running gait overloading one side. Our assessment tells them apart, so you treat the right thing.

Back-referred

& runner's hip pain

Hips that stay sore start changing how you move.

First you avoid the stairs, then the long walk, then lying on that side. The less you do, the weaker the hip gets, which is exactly what makes it hurt more. Every week you wait is a week of compensation we'll have to undo. Same-week appointments mean you don't have to wait.

The TAP Method, applied to your hip

The reason our results last when quick fixes don't. One plan, one team, three steps.

OUR 3 STEP SYSTEM. WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR FIRST SESSION

01

Assess

A proper conversation, then a full assessment: hip range, glute and hip strength, your back, knee and foot, how you walk, sit and sleep, your training history. We find the true cause of your hip pain, not just where it hurts. Most people tell us nobody has ever looked this closely before.

02

Treat

Hands-on treatment from minute one: massage, mobilisation, dry needling, cupping and more, tailored to what your hip actually needs. You'll feel a difference before you leave the room.

03

Rebuild

A clear plan and simple, progressive exercises to rebuild glute and hip strength, so your hip ends up stronger than before the pain started. This is the step every quick fix skips. It's the reason ours doesn't come back.

No GP referral, no scan required, no fixed packages, no pressure. In your first session we'll find what's actually driving your hip pain and tell you honestly how we can help — or point you to who can if we're not the right fit.

GOOD TO KNOW

Hip questions, answered

Do I need a GP referral or a scan first?

No. You can book directly with us as a private patient — no GP referral, no scan needed.

A thorough physical assessment diagnoses most knee problems accurately, and if we think

imaging would genuinely change your treatment, we'll tell you and point you the right way.

Is it arthritis? Will I need a new hip?

Most hip pain in people under 60 isn't arthritis at all. Even when it is, some "wear" on a scan

is normal past 40 and doesn't decide your treatment. Strength and movement work is the

first-line treatment for hip osteoarthritis and it delays or avoids surgery for a lot of people.

If your hip does need a surgeon, we'll say so and refer you on.

Should I stretch it?

Depends what it is. Stretching an irritated gluteal tendon (the outer hip ache) often makes

it worse, because the stretch compresses the tendon against the bone. Stiff, arthritic hips

do like movement. Your assessment tells you which you've got before you pull on anything.

Can I keep running?

Usually yes, with changes. We adjust distance, hills and frequency rather than stopping

altogether and we use the running itself as part of the rehab. Total rest weakens the

very muscles your hip needs.

Can I be seen this week?

Almost always — we hold same-week appointments across both clinics and

we're open 7 days. Warwick (4 The Holloway) and Stratford-upon-Avon

(Unit 3, Avon House, 4 Mulberry Street) both treat knees daily.

How many sessions will I need?

Most hip problems need somewhere between 2 and 6 sessions alongside your home plan.

Gluteal tendons and arthritic hips tend to need longer, spaced-out support. We'll give you

an honest estimate at your first assessment. There are no fixed packages; you'll

never be booked in for the sake of it.

Ready to take the stairs without thinking about it?

You've got three options: keep hoping it settles on its own, keep paying for quick fixes that last a few days, or let us find the real cause and fix it properly. Book your hip pain assessment at Warwick or Stratford and take the first step out of pain today.

Your first session includes a full assessment. We'll find what's

driving your hip pain, or tell you honestly if we're not the right fit.

No fixed packages, no pressure.
