DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Finally Release The Deep, Stubborn Muscle Tension That Won't Let Go

Warwick & Stratford-upon-Avon's Specialist Deep Tissue Massage

Are you trapped by:

  • Chronic muscle knots that just won't budge?

  • Deep-seated tension in your neck, shoulders, or back?

  • Tightness that restricts your movement and flexibility?

  • Pain that keeps returning no matter what you try?

  • Stress that's literally locked into your body?

What if you could melt away years of accumulated tension, move freely again, and finally feel relaxed in your own body without relying on painkillers or living with constant discomfort?

Why Surface Level Massage Isn't Enough

Regular relaxation massage feels nice. But it only works on superficial muscles.

Deep tissue massage goes deeper literally.

Your chronic tension isn't just in the top layer of muscle. It's buried in the deeper muscle layers, fascia, and connective tissue where stress, poor posture, and repetitive movements create stubborn adhesions and knots.

That's where deep tissue massage works its magic:

  • Breaks down scar tissue and adhesions

  • Releases chronic muscle tension patterns

  • Improves blood flow to oxygen-starved tissues

  • Restores range of motion and flexibility

  • Addresses the ROOT of your muscle pain

This isn't just massage it's therapeutic bodywork that creates lasting change.

What Makes Deep Tissue Massage Different?

Slower, More Deliberate Strokes
We work methodically through each layer of muscle, allowing tissues to release naturally without force.

Targeted Pressure on Problem Areas
Instead of a full-body routine, we focus intensive work where YOU need it most.

Works on Deeper Muscle Layers
Reaching the muscles beneath the surface where chronic tension hides.

Uses Specialised Techniques
Including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and cross-fiber friction to break down adhesions.

Therapeutic, Not Just Relaxing
You'll feel some discomfort during treatment (the "good hurt"), but the relief afterwards is profound.

What Happens During Your Session

Your 60 minute deep tissue massage begins with a brief consultation about your problem areas and goals.

Then:

✓ Warming of surface muscles to prepare tissues for deeper work
✓ Slow, firm pressure applied progressively to reach deeper layers
✓ Focused work on trouble spots knots, trigger points, and tight bands
✓ Communication throughout so pressure stays within your tolerance
✓ Stretching and mobilisation to enhance the release
✓ Post-treatment guidance on self care and hydration

Most clients feel immediate relief, with continued improvement over the following 48 hours as inflammation reduces and tissues heal.

Who Benefits Most From Deep Tissue Massage?

This treatment transforms lives for people struggling with:

  • Chronic back pain from desk work or manual labor

  • Stubborn neck and shoulder tension causing headaches

  • Postural issues creating muscle imbalances

  • Athletic training requiring deep muscle recovery

  • Old injuries with lingering tightness and restriction

  • Repetitive strain injuries from work or hobbies

  • Stress-related tension that won't release

  • Limited mobility from tight hips, shoulders, or legs

  • Fibromyalgia and chronic pain conditions

  • Post-exercise muscle soreness that lingers too long

If you've tried regular massage and thought "it's nice but doesn't really fix anything," deep tissue is what you've been missing.

Deep Tissue vs. Sports Massage: What's The Difference?

Both use firm pressure and work on deeper tissues, but:

Deep Tissue Massage focuses on chronic muscle tension, knots, and fascial restrictions. Best for ongoing pain, postural issues, and stress-related tightness.

Sports Massage focuses on athletic performance, injury recovery, and specific sport-related issues. Best for active training and competition preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will deep tissue massage hurt?
You'll feel firm pressure and some discomfort when we work on particularly tight areas—often described as "good hurt." It should never be unbearable. We constantly check in and adjust pressure to keep you within comfortable therapeutic range.

How is this different from a spa massage?
Spa massage is primarily for relaxation using light to medium pressure. Deep tissue is clinical therapy using slow, deliberate pressure to reach deeper muscle layers and address chronic tension and pain.

How will I feel after?
Immediately after, you'll likely feel looser and more relaxed. The next 24-48 hours you might experience some soreness (like after a workout) as tissues heal. Then significant relief and improved mobility.

How often should I come?
For chronic issues, we recommend weekly sessions for the first 3-4 weeks, then bi-weekly, then monthly maintenance. Acute problems often improve in 2-3 sessions.

Should I drink water after?
Yes! Deep tissue work releases metabolic waste from tissues. Drinking plenty of water helps flush these toxins from your system and reduces post-treatment soreness.

What should I wear?
Most people undress to their comfort level (underwear or sports shorts). You're draped with sheets throughout, with only the area being worked exposed.

Can I get deep tissue if I'm pregnant?

We offer specialised pregnancy massage, but deep tissue techniques are modified. Please let us know you're pregnant when booking.

Is this suitable for everyone?

Deep tissue massage isn't recommended for certain conditions (recent surgery, blood clots, severe osteoporosis, open wounds). We'll discuss your health history before treatment.
